Killing in Ankazobe – Seven dangerous criminals still running

Wanted for the killings in Ankazobe, Iarisy and his two brothers, Lemizana, Lako, Ndrina and Dofa remain elusive. Fifty-seven individuals were arrested and ten killed.

The hunt continues to find the main perpetrators of the carnage in Ambohitriniandriana Ankazobe that occurred on July 29. The gang leader Elysé Randrianarisoa or Iarisy, his brothers Emile Randrianarisoa or Leba and Donné Randrianarisoa, Norbert Randriamananjara or Dofa, Fidel Ralakomanana, Harimanana Raveloarisoa or Ndrina and Lemizana are still on the run. They are criminals. Several members of their villainous group also took off. The noose is tightening around them following the dissemination of wanted notices and the investigation by the gendarmerie. They are extremely cautious. They have sometimes been on the brink of being caught.

Since the military operation launched the day following the crime, ten members of the circle of Iarisy have been killed in clashes. Fifty-seven people including the mayor of the town of Ambolotarakely, suspected of complicity, were arrested. Thirty of them have already been presented to the Ankazobe Prosecutor’s Office. Only six were remanded in custody. The chosen one and the others were able to return while awaiting the trial scheduled for August 31.

Localized

The last reported arrests took place the day before yesterday, carried out by the gendarmes of the central Imerina company, in the district of Anjozorobe.

The captives, three women and a diviner, were located through the study of various telephone search results. Complicity in murder, kidnapping and theft of oxen and concealment of criminals constitute their offence. One of the women is the companion of a co-author of Iarisy. She was fleeing with these criminals following the massacre, according to her own revelations.

As for the two survivors of the unparalleled atrocity, they are beginning to recover gradually. The burns on their bodies haven’t quite healed. Thirty-five villagers were locked up and burned alive in two houses on July 29 in Ambohitriniandriana.
