Russian clubs were officially excluded from the Euroleague and the Basketball Eurocup, following being provisionally suspended from both tournaments.
It was decided by the Executive Board of the Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA), an entity that brings together the owners of the 13 clubs that make it up, and which had to adopt a final decision on the matter today.
After the confirmation, those excluded in the Euroleague are CSKA Moscow, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Unics Kazanwhile Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar was marginalized from the European Championship.
The results obtained in both tournaments by the Russian teams were cancelled, which is why Olimpia Milan achieved mathematical classification for the Euroleague playoffs.
