Dilson De la Rosa Ahumada said the last goodbye to her mother at the Jardines de Cartagena Cemetery when a hitman who posed as a mourner to enter shot her in front of her family and friends. It was 11:30 am today when the shots caused panic among De la Rosa’s companions.
The tour guide died instantly and a guard who was also accompanying the funeral was injured when he was shot in the face. The latter, identified as Luis Morales, was initially treated at the Madre Bernarda Clinic and later referred to the Caribbean University Hospital. It seems that in his flight, the hitman was stunned when he saw Morales at the entrance to the cemetery and shot him, according to versions of witnesses. General Nicolás Zapata Restrepo, commander of the Metropolitana, went to the scene of the events and confirmed that Dilson was indeed attending his mother’s funeral when he was approached by a subject who, apparently, had followed him on a motorcycle. The officer assured that with the help of the security cameras they have identified the motorcycle used in this criminal act.
15 homicides in 13 days
Dilson is the latest victim of the 15 homicides that have occurred in 13 days in Cartagena and its townships. Of those cases, seven have been in fights for intolerance, seven in hit men and one in robbery. Five of these latest bloody events have happened so far this week.
Deiker Alberto Lozada Callejo, 21, and José Ulises Arrieta García, 29, are other of the two most recent victims. The first was a foreigner and was allegedly stabbed in a robbery that occurred today, at 3 in the morning, in the Brussels neighborhood. The second was an Indriver driver and was shot by hitmen on a motorcycle in Daniel Lemaitre.
The Police confirmed that the crime of Lozada Callejo, 23 years old and of Venezuelan nationality, the alleged criminals were captured. They are Amaury Reyes Vivanco, 21 years old; and Jefri Yesid Arce Ortega, 31. The first of them, nicknamed ‘El Negrito’, has two judicial notations for theft; the second one for illegal possession of a firearm. Deiker’s assassination occurred exactly at intersection 44A with diagonal 26B in Brussels. Police investigations, following statements they received from witnesses, indicate that the foreigner was traveling in that area on a black Boxer motorcycle when he was approached by ‘el Negrito’ and ‘el Jefri’, who tried to strip him of his belongings and your vehicle. The victim resisted and was attacked several times with a sharp weapon.
Sijín officials found Deiker’s body in the middle of the road and next to the motorcycle he was driving. A quick operation deployed by Quadrant patrols allowed the Police to capture the two suspects.

Four hitmen
José Ulises Arrieta García is one of the four fatalities left by the hitmen this week. He worked as a driver for a digital platform in a Chevrolet Spark and on Monday, according to the Police, he left a race at around 7 at night near the Liceo Bolívar school. Daniel Miranda Ortiz and Ausberto Altamiranda Navas are the other two victims of the hitmen this week. The first was murdered in La María and the second in Ceballos. Miranda, 24, was attacked in the Los Corales sector on Tuesday at 6:10 in the followingnoon. Altamiranda, 33, was shot Wednesday following passing the Ceballos tollbooth on his motorcycle.
