A Thai couple said they were hired by a German woman to deliver a freezer to the home where Mack’s body was later found.

After the businessman was reported missing by his girlfriend, Hans Mack’s silver-colored Mercedes-Benz E350 convertible was spotted. Investigators found traces of dry cleaning inside.

Thai police are investigating in the case of killed German businessman Hans-Peter Mack the origin of the last SMS that the 62-year-old allegedly sent to his 24-year-old wife Piraya Boonmak. The couple met for lunch on July 4th. As Mack, however did not show up for the appointment, the woman received a message in which her husband claimed he would call back. Boonmak knew immediately something was wrong: In their five-year relationship, Mack had never texted his wife.

As the BBC reports, Boonmak is said to have received a series of suspicious text messages afterwards, leading them to believe that one or more scammers were using Mack’s cell phone. Her husband never saw the woman again. Mack’s body was finally found last Monday at an estate in Nong Prue, a suburb of the well-known resort of Pattaya.

According to the police, the German’s head, torso and limbs were severed. The perpetrators sawed the body into 13 parts and then hid them in plastic bags in a 1.5 meter long freezer.

A Thai couple had informed police after being previously tasked with transporting the chest freezer to the pool house. Footage from a surveillance camera showed an SUV being driven by a white man. The device had been covered with plastic sheeting and black tape secured.

Where was Mack killed?

The victim was last seen in his silver Mercedes on July 4 in the southern Thai coastal city of Pattaya. Days later, investigators discovered the car in an apartment parking lot in Nong Prue.

The inside of the Mercedes had been scrubbed clean. Inside, officers found a cordless chainsaw, hedge trimmers and plastic rollers, as well as cleaning fluid on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and other areas of the car. Police believe Mack was killed in his car.

Who is behind the action?

Meanwhile, the police arrested three Germans and a 27-year-old man from Pakistan. The German suspects are 52-year-old Olaf B., 52-year-old Nicole F. and 54-year-old Petra G. All have denied having anything to do with the 62-year-old’s death.

How did the perpetrators work?

According to “News.com.au”, Nicole F. is said to have rented the house where Mack’s body was found. Petra G. and Olaf B. are said to have sawed up the man’s body together with the Pakistani U. and packed it in plastic bags.

Footage from a surveillance camera shows that Mack met Petra G. at a coffee shop in Nong Prue on July 4. They later drove to the mansion where the other suspects were waiting for Mack.

What is the motive for the act?

The Germans and the Pakistani may have wanted to force the businessman to transfer money to their accounts. On Wednesday, the newspaper “Khaosod” reported that a total of three million baht (around 78,000 euros) had been transferred from his account to ten target accounts. The newspaper quoted Deputy National Police Chief Surachate Hakparn as saying that the murder had been planned and well prepared by the gang for over a month.

Wer war Hans-Peter Mack?

In 2018, the German was arrested in Thailand for allegedly running a child trafficking ring that brokered children for sex with foreign men. He managed to avoid prison and later built a real estate empire.
