vida-Heitzinger: “Insecure workers should contact vida immediately – the government must keep promises and preserve jobs!”
Vienna (OTS) – “We call on all affected workers to get in touch with their responsible union and not to sign anything without advice from the vida union,” comments Christine Heitzinger, Chair of the Services department in the vida union, on the rumored “extensive and far-reaching restructuring”. through the takeover of the branches of Kika/Leiner by the Graz company Supernova.
“There is a lot of uncertainty among the employees. As a trade union, we stand by your side with support,” Heitzinger continued, emphasizing that delaying the employees – as suggested by the company – is completely unacceptable. “It needs clarity as soon as possible,” demands unionist Heitzinger. It is a debacle that employees have to fear for their jobs once more shortly following the supposed rescue by Benko. “Benko earned it, the workforce was deceived by Kurz and the government at the time and is now also disappointed,” says Heitzinger, criticizing the approach.
According to current information, 23 branches are threatened with closure – plus central warehouses. “If the plans are implemented in this way, it can be assumed that hundreds will lose their jobs,” says Heitzinger, emphasizing that unsettled workers should contact the vida union immediately (e-mail address: dienstleistungen@vida.at). Furthermore, vida trade unionist Heitzinger calls on the government to keep its promises and to preserve jobs.
