Usha Uthup said on the stage that she was confined at home for a long time due to the spread of covid and she is traveling following two and a half long years and she is very happy to participate in the program that will give her money. Didi added that covid has affected her life like everyone else.

‘I haven’t been anywhere for the last two and a half years. With the arrival of Covid, life was confined to Kolkata only. I might not even see my family members. All this time she had to be separated from her daughter Anjali, son-in-law and grandchildren. My husband was in Kerala for a long time. He recently returned to Kolkata. His mother is at the family home in Kottayam. I really want to see my mother. By coming to Kerala, I am also getting a chance to meet my family members. Very happy with that.

My son Sunny lives with me in Kolkata. He is undergoing treatment for kidney disease. A kidney transplant was attempted but failed. Now life is being carried forward through dialysis. It is music that helps me to overcome life’s sorrows and difficulties caused by Covid. Music is the only solace’, said Usha Uthup.
