Mohamed Cisse, who was released after being kidnapped and isolated in the company of all the leaders of the FNDC, Foniké Mengué and Billo Bah, gave a poignant testimony on the conditions of his release. In the third extract of his story broadcast by the National Front, he revealed his exchange with the top commander of the gendarmerie, General Bala Samoura.
Mohamed Cissé explained that the final stage of his detention took place at the National Gendarmerie Command after being detained in the Casas Islands. “Once there, the commander went out to make a phone call for a few minutes while ordering his troops to take me out of the armored vehicle. They put me on a plastic chair because I could not stand up. That’s when the soldiers left in the armored vehicle, leaving me there with two gendarmes,” he explained.
Cisse added that a gendarme then put his phone to his ear. “The man on the phone asked me if I was Mohamed Lamine Cisse. I replied no, I was Mohamed Cisse. Without seeing his face, I quickly understood that the man on the phone was General Bala Samoura, the top commander of the gendarmerie.”
The general, in a threatening tone, reproached him for refusing to cooperate during the interrogation and admitting his involvement in preparing for the coup. “You are not answering any questions, you are interfering in this movement at your expense. What else can you gain except working to prepare for the future? I heard him threaten me and said, “You know, we are ready for everything, everything you plan here is doomed to fail, I tell you clearly. ” This is how he changed his language to express himself in Malinke. He insulted me and called me “Bilakoro”. Then he informed me that I was released and ordered me to get up and leave. Even the gendarmes who were present did not dare to touch me for fear that I would die in their hands. They even urged me to get out of there.”
