Kickl: Prince “hot share” for Hofburg election

The FPÖ wants to present next Saturday who it is sending into the race for the federal presidential election. That’s what FPÖ party leader Herbert Kickl said today to the “Kronen Zeitung” (online edition).

“We will announce our candidate around July 9th. Three months is a damn long time for an election campaign,” Kickl is quoted as saying by the “Krone”. “We have only seen a short presentation of the previously known candidates, a political flash in the pan. On the other hand, we want to make it compact, short and crisp,” Kickl continues.

Susanne Fürst has long been considered the most promising candidate. She is currently the party’s constitutional spokeswoman in the National Council. “It’s a very hot stock,” said Kickl to the “Krone”

As a lawyer, she is an “excellent expert on the basic and freedom issues. In addition, as the head of the FPÖ, it is nice to see that I am no longer asked where the women are within the party, but that everyone is talking regarding a strong, free woman. I trust Fürst with a very, very good result if she should become our candidate.
