“We really hesitated to come with the heat, but we said to ourselves that we have to stop complaining when the weather is nice. We hydrate well and we take advantage of it because we wait for this moment all year long, ”underlines Julianne Boisvert in the company of her friends.

“I took time off to come and see the show, and it was sure that rain or shine I was going to wait here to be as close to the stage as possible”, adds another festival-goer who was waiting in the queue. for quite a while now.

The heat was perhaps unbearable in the sun, but many still decided to come to the main driveway, swapping the queue for a terrace. The latter were also completely crowded at the end of the followingnoon.

“As long as we were dying of the heat in the sun, we came to have a little beer to be sure to hydrate ourselves properly,” said William Turcot all smiles on the edge of a terrace with his friend.

Restaurant owners excited

There is also a certain excitement in the air on the restaurant side of the main alley with the launch of the festival, while the enthusiasm for the terraces and restaurants is even greater than usual.

“It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for all year. People are in a good mood and they are there. It’s definitely a little more challenge for us, but we’ve been preparing for a while now,” says the co-owner of L’Atelier and Ophelia, Jonathan Ollat.

For his part, the heat is not really a worrying factor, since he firmly believes that people will still be there regardless of the temperature.

“I don’t think the heat is really going to hold people back. Many are fond of the terrace regardless of the temperature and generally, people want to take advantage of it and go out when the weather is nice,” he concluded.
