Kibbutz Sa’ar in emergency mode: “We did not know such a war”

Today (Wednesday) in a Hezbollah barrage towards the Galilee, a direct hit of a missile was detected in a private house in Kibbutz Sa’ar in the Western Galilee. The MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, two wounded, including a 35-year-old man in serious condition with shrapnel wounds to his upper body and a 52-year-old man in moderate condition with shrapnel wounds to his lower body. In addition, several anxiety victims were treated there.

An indictment was filed against a 29-year-old man who tried to run over a protester in Ayalon in March

A paramedic at the MDA, Amir Bohdanasaid: “We arrived at the scene of the incident and saw great destruction after a missile hit a private house. There were two wounded people in full consciousness, one of them suffering from shrapnel wounds to the head and upper body and his condition is classified as serious, and the other suffering from shrapnel wounds to the legs in moderate condition. They told us that they are working who worked on renovations instead.’

Moshe Davidovichhead of the Asher Staff Council, spoke to Ma’ariv and said about the damage: “The lack of protection in the house that was damaged in the kibbutz is part of the failures of the Israeli government that neglected the north, and neglected the treatment of protection and here are the results. The results of the old houses which are without protection with a warning time of 0, are severely and moderately damaged. The injured residents are not from the kibbutz, but contractor workers who renovated the house. If they had implemented the Magen plan for the north, which was already established in 2018, the residents today would be protected.”

Yair Boymelthe spokesman for Kibbutz Sa’ar added that “we at Kibbutz Lemodi have experience from the previous wars, we have suffered falls in the past within the territory of the kibbutz. Those who live in our area today, should be aware that there is a chance that this will happen. The damaged house is undergoing renovation, the owner of the apartment is abroad and the injured are contractor workers. As a resident of the north, I feel that the Israeli government could have ended the story with Hezbollah a long time ago.’

Yuval Orenthe 70-year-old, who was born in the kibbutz, shared his personal feelings in an interview with “Maariv”: “We have been in this situation for 11 months, living in an emergency routine. This time the missile hit the residential area of the kibbutz, which is scarier. Until now, the Iron Dome has been able to protect On us, the falls were all around us. The noises of the barrages have already become part of our routine. They lived like this for 20 years, until the same disaster happened and now we are experiencing it again and again.”

According to him, the ongoing situation creates a sense of concern among the residents of the kibbutz, especially against the background of the personal and security history of the place: “We have been leading an emergency routine life for almost a year.”

In most of the kibbutz houses there are no emergency rooms but old security rooms, built more than 40 years ago, which do not meet the new standard of security rooms at all,” he described and reproduced today’s incident: “We closed the door of the security room and felt protected, despite the booms “Deafening. There were people in the kibbutz who were frightened by the loud booms,” he said.

“We are an organized kibbutz with a professional emergency squad and a community emergency team who know how to act in such an event. Unfortunately, in the 70 years I’ve lived here, I’ve been through a lot of war events, but a war like this, which lasts about a year – is something we didn’t know. I want to believe that it will be good, but I am definitely concerned about the government’s handling of the entire event of the war since October 7.’
