Kia labor union’s temporary agreement on wage agreement passed… No disputes for 2 years in a row

The Kia labor union, which rejected the provisional agreement for wage and collective bargaining once, passed the second provisional agreement on the 18th, and concluded a collective bargaining agreement without dispute for the second year in a row.

According to the Kia Motors union, 26,490 people participated in the voting on the day of 28,229 members of each branch union, and 17,409 people (65.7%) voted in favor of the provisional agreement.

As a result, Kia concluded a collective bargaining agreement without disputes between labor and management for the second year in a row.

Earlier, the labor and management agreed to a temporary collective bargaining agreement that included an increase of 98,000 won in basic salary (including salary increase), 200% of management performance + 4 million won, and 100% of incentives to achieve production and sales goals.

However, in the union vote, only the contract for a contract was passed, and the collective agreement was rejected, and the two sides renegotiated.

In the second collective agreement, a discount benefit will be provided to retirees who have served for 25 years or more when purchasing electric vehicles from 2025.

However, there is a proviso that the details regarding electric vehicle benefits will be discussed separately in consideration of customer standby demand, subsidy payment trends, and supply and demand conditions.

The union of Kia Motors will hold a collective bargaining agreement signing ceremony with the management on the 19th at the main building of the Gwangmyeong plant.
