Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Nine militants were killed in two operations

According to the Department of Public Relations of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), nine militants were killed in two separate operations by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.

In a statement issued on Monday evening, the ISPR said that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the general area of ​​Tirah area in Khyber district.

The statement said that in the first operation, militant commander Najib alias Abdul Rahman and commander Ashfaq alias Muawiya, along with seven other militants, lost their lives in the encounter with the security forces.

“The deceased terrorists were active in several terrorist activities in the area and wanted by law enforcement agencies.”

The statement added that arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain militants.

According to the ISPR statement, in another operation conducted in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces targeted a hideout of militants, as a result of which two militants were killed.

Operations are underway to eliminate any militants found in the area as security forces are determined to eliminate the scourge of militancy from the country, the statement said.
