Khloe Kardashian has revealed her journey with skin cancer, after having a small type of malignant tumor removed from her cheek last year.
“For those who don’t know I had skin cancer on my face. I had a lump removed from my cheek. I had a huge gap,” the Good American co-founder wrote alongside a series of snaps, which she posted on Instagram.
Mum-of-two Khloe, 39, shared before-and-after photos of her cheek, including close-ups of her stitches after surgery. Other photos showed the noticeable dent in her face as a result of the removal procedure, which Kardashian revealed is now filled with cosmetic injections.
“I’ve waited over nine months to be able to fill this by the way,” Khloe added. “Patience is the most important thing, and of course we have to make sure medically that everything is safe.” The reality TV star added that filling her cheeks will always be something she has to do.
“I look crazy in these pictures, but I’m happy that my face is slowly returning to normal,” Khloe wrote alongside selfies showing the results of one round of injections. The “Kardashians” star also thanked Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher for carefully removing the tumor, according to the website. Big 6.
Khloe also urged her millions of followers to get frequent skin cancer screenings. She added, “I never imagined that this small spot would turn into cancer, and I cannot imagine what would have happened if I had not gone to the doctor to have it examined.”
