Khalaf Al Habtoor contributes 10 million dirhams to “one billion meals”

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founder and Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, donated AED 10 million to the Billion Meals initiative, the largest in the region and the world to provide food support to the needy and the poor, especially children, refugees, displaced people and those affected by natural disasters and crises in 50 countries.

The Al Habtoor Group teams will contribute to distributing food parcels as part of the initiative’s operations organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in cooperation with the World Food Program, the Regional Food Banks Network, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The Emirates Food Bank, and a number of institutions specialized in charitable, humanitarian and social work in the countries covered by the initiative.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founder and Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, said: “It is sad that in the twenty-first century hundreds of millions are still dying of starvation.. We must all come together to eradicate these pests, each according to his capabilities.

He added: Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, we establish a noble model of charitable and humanitarian work through what our parents and grandparents taught us, more than anywhere else in the world. We have long invested in the core issues in order to improve human life without differentiating nationality, religion or race. I am grateful for my ability to contribute to the One Billion Meals initiative that originates from the UAE and is organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

The Jumbo Group, which specializes in electronics and its products, also announced a donation of one million dirhams in support of the efforts of the “Billion Meals” initiative, the largest humanitarian initiative in the region to support the poor and needy in 50 countries around the world.
