Pillar Aims for One More Season
Kevin Pillar isn’t done yet.
After stating last July that he was “98% sure” he’d retire after the 2024 seasons, the veteran outfielder is backtracking a bit. In an appearance on MLB Network’s Hot Stove, Pillar revealed he’s decided to see what’s out there: “
“I feel good. I enjoyed last year. Things stuff my feelings have changed a little bit,” he said.“I am pretty sure. Don’t know if any club will come knocking. But I am gonna stay in shape and answer the phone, for sure."

What kind of role is Kevin Pillar hoping to have on a team in the upcoming season?
**Host:** Welcome back to the show. Joining us today is veteran outfielder Kevin Pillar, who recently announced he’s reconsidering his retirement plans. Kevin, thanks for being here.
**Kevin Pillar:** Thanks for having me.
**Host:** So, last July you were pretty adamant about calling it quits after this past season. What’s changed?
**Kevin Pillar:** You know, after reflecting on things, I realized I still have a lot of passion for the game. I felt good physically last season, and I enjoyed contributing to the team. It just feels premature to walk away when I still feel I have something left to give.
**Host:** You mentioned feeling good physically. Do you think teams will be hesitant about offering you a contract given your age?
**Kevin Pillar:** I understand that, but I’m confident in my abilities. I’m going to stay in shape and show teams I’m still capable of playing at a high level.
**Host:** What kind of role are you looking for at this stage of your career?
**Kevin Pillar:** I’m open to anything. Whether it’s a starting role or coming off the bench, I just want to be part of a winning team.
**Host:** Do you think this latest decision will surprise your fans? Do you think they want to see you play another year?
