This December 23, 2023, ‘Pipe’ Sierra, one of the most reliable journalists when it comes to Colombian soccer transfers, provided details about the transfer of Kevin Mier to Cruz Azul of Mexico. According to Sierra, the transfer has already been closed and ‘Verdolaga’ would keep 20% of the token for a future sale.

In addition, different sectors of the press revealed the amount that Cruz Azul would have paid Nacional for the goalkeeper. Apparently, the deal was closed for around $3 million, making Mier the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of Colombian soccer.

Although he kept a percentage of Kevin Mier’s token, many Nacional fans reacted to the deal made with Cruz Azul. With all kinds of messages, they assured that the team sold it very cheaply, not to mention that it was given away, to the young goalkeeper.

Mier was worth at least 7M, he is the player with the highest market value in the Colombian league. To keep 20% I would have asked for 5 M, the thing is that they later sell it to Europe for 20-25 M, the transfer market has become very inflated, Colombia cannot be considered stupid.
