Kevin Magnussen to Leave Haas at End of Season – 2024-07-19 16:44:13

RACER Kevin Magnussen has decided to end his contract with Haas at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

“I would like to thank everyone at Team Haas. I am proud to have driven for such a great team over the last few years,” said Magnussen, as quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Thursday (18/7).

Magnussen is currently in his seventh season with Haas, split between 2017-2020 and 2022-2024. He has scored 5 of Haas’ 22 points this season.

The Danish rider also felt grateful that the team had the same commitment as him, even when he decided to return to strengthen the team in 2022.

“I enjoyed some amazing moments with this team. These are memories I will never forget,” said Magnussen.

“While I look forward to the next chapter in my racing career, I remain fully focused on giving everything I have for the remainder of 2024 with Team Haas,” he added.

Haas director Ayao Komatsu expressed his hope that Magnussen and the team can continue to maintain a good relationship off the track.

“I would like to thank Kevin for everything he has given to the team. He has truly been a cornerstone of our rider line-up over the years,” said Komatsu.

“We had some memorable moments together, including a great fifth place finish at the 2022 Bahrain GP, ​​as he began his second spell with the team,” he continued.

Furthermore, Komatsu is also looking forward to the rest of the team’s journey with Magnussen in the second half of this Formula 1 season.

“There are a lot of races still to go this year, so I’m looking forward to seeing what else we can achieve with Kevin as we battle through the rest of the season together,” he said.

The 13th round of Formula 1 2024 will continue at the Hungarian GP at the Hungaroring Circuit, Budapest, this weekend. (Ant/Z-1)
