Belgium had a tough night as they were knocked out of the European Championship by France following a late own goal from Jan Vertonghen.
The question is whether the so-called “golden generation” in Belgium, who are now coming of age, can end their national careers without playing in the final for a major championship title.
At least that’s what Italian transfer journalist Tancredi Palmeri wondered at the subsequent press conference.
The question caused Kevin De Bruyne to react. Sharply.
– So you say that France, England, Spain and Germany do not have a golden generation?, says the Manchester City star before he leaves the podium and seems to mutter:
– Stupid…
On X hits Palmieri back at De Bruyne.
“De Bruyne just called me stupid. Hi Kevin, here’s a message for you: the golden generations of France, England, Germany and Spain have all reached a final! Typical footballer who just wants to hear how good he is. Spoiled brat”.
