Kevin De Bruyne eases the pain of a young Ukrainian fan affected by the bombings (video)

Kevin De Bruyne was the author of a nice gesture a few days ago, and not on the pitch this time. Touched by an Instagram message from a Belgian journalist present in Ukraine, he sent a video to a young Ukrainian fan, hit very closely by a bombardment.

David is 16 years old, he was playing football in Mariupol with two friends when a rocket fell. One of them was killed instantly, the other was seriously injured. David, too, is injured in the leg. While in hospital, he meets Joanie De Rijke, a Belgian journalist. When he learns that she comes from Belgium, he evokes his admiration for Kevin De Bruyne, like a bright spot in the greyness of his new daily life.

The journalist then sends a video of David to the Manchester City player, who quickly responded with a video of him: “Hi David, this is Kevin De Bruyne. I heard what happened to you, I’m really sorry for you. It’s really not fun what’s going on. But I hope this message will give you a little bit of courage to get up. I hope the situation will improve soon. And I hope you can see me play in person one day. I wish you all the best.
