Kev Adams almost mightn’t make his film Retirement Home, which he co-wrote. Fortunately, as he revealed to BFM TV, he was saved by a tennis champion.
The film Retirement home, co-written by Kev Adams and Catherine Diament, almost never arrived in theaters, due to lack of funding!
“At one point we had private funding to make this movie and they pulled the plug three weeks before shooting started. Before producing a film, there is a preparation phase, and there, we were in the preparation. So we had already incurred costs… And there, private funding disconnects and says: “No, we are no longer making the film”, revealed Kev Adams on the set of BFM TV.
Fortunately for him, the project was saved by tennis player Stan Wawrinka!
“So I’m like, ‘How are we going to do that? Because we might have shifted, but when you have a cast whose average age is 80, you avoid shifting these things. So I’m in deep shit. Then Stan calls me, because we call each other regularly to check on each other, and he says to me: “I feel that things are not going well enough”. And then I tell him. He said to me: “Listen, I’ve always dreamed of producing films, send me the script.” I send him the script, and here it is: three days later, he was co-producer of the film, ”explains Kev Adams.
