This Sunday, the independent newspaper Mediapart unveiled an investigation into the animated film project “Plush”, a participatory film which Kev Adams had promoted last year. The comedian announced his participation in the project, which was to be financed with the sale of NFT (digital certificates of ownership of images that are purchased using cryptocurrency).

But “Plush” has still not seen the light of day, a year following the launch of the kitty. Mediapart claims that 700 investors have “lost more than a million euros in the project promoted by Kev Adams”.

Cryptocurrency, mysterious partner … Kev Adams at the heart of a financial scandal involving the loss of several million euros

The latter, who had not wished to speak to the French media, finally spoke on social networks to defend himself. “Given the extent of the controversy, it seems important to me to make things clear”wrote the comedian, explaining how he was related to “Plush”. “In 2021, I was contacted regarding a crowdsourced animated feature film project. The idea was simple: I had to lend my voice to a potential cartoon and promote it. In other words: exercise my job. That’s all”.

Kev Adams confides that he liked the idea, that he made sure “of the seriousness of the project” and that he felt confident. But he later understood that the project was “too ambitious”. He recalls that he was not paid for anything, and did not commit to anything.

“Contrary to what some articles have you believe, I am not the mastermind of any operation or scam. I just agreed to lend my voice to an animated film”concludes Kev Adams, who judges that this controversy calls into question his integrity.
