Kerala University bids farewell to foreign students returning after completing studies

Thiruvananthapuram > Kerala University gave farewell to the returning foreign students following completing their studies. About 160 students from 33 countries are studying in Kerala University. Farewell was given to 17 students. There are students from 15 African countries, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Colombia, UK and USA. Kerala is also the university that has received the highest number of applications through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) portal in the last three years. For the 2021–22 academic year, the university received applications from approximately 1,100 students representing 35 countries. 49 of them received ICCR scholarship. In 2022-23, approximately 1400 applications were received and 49 students were selected for the scholarship. Out of 1600 applicants received in 2023-24, 78 students were given scholarship. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunummal, syndicate members Dr. KG Gopchandran, Dr. Radhamani, Center for Global Academics Director Prof. Sabu Joseph, Registrar Prof. KS Anilkumar also participated in the program.
