Kerala Football Association’s Comprehensive Development Plans: Producing Top Football Players in Kochi

2023-08-21 05:06:59

Kochi – Prominent businessman and sports organizer Nawaz Meeran, who was elected as the president of the Kerala Football Association (KFA), said that the efforts of the new governing body can produce the best football players from the state. He was clarifying the comprehensive development plans of KFA for the next 4 years.

2100 matches
1.4 lakh players are registered with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). 44000 of them are from Kerala. There is no shortage of players. Care should be taken to develop the best players. As a part of that, it aims to increase infrastructure and increase the number of good coaches and referees. 5 registered and unregistered teams each from 7 districts will be selected for home and away matches. The arrangement will be such that each team will get 24 matches each. 2100 matches will be conducted in this way. Competitions will start in October. 10 teams will be formed with best players in different age groups.

200 players who win more than 1 crore

Efforts will be made to resolve the crisis in the work of those who have played in international competition. However, efforts should be made to utilize other avenues from football, such as academies, not just government jobs. At present, a large number of players in the ISL are from other states. Atleast 200 professional players earning more than 1 crore annual income should be produced from Kerala.

Most of the stadiums in Kerala are for various sports. Among them there are many difficulties to enjoy football well. At least 8 stadiums need to be prepared exclusively for football. A proposal will be submitted to the government to see if the best grounds for such stadiums are available for schools. Private clubs and academies will be considered. 8 teams are coming to Kerala Super League. These teams need home grounds. More efforts will be made in public-private partnership.

Video evaluations

Technical facilities should be brought more into football. Video will assist in observing each player’s game to assess their weaknesses and areas for improvement. Good coaches and referees will be trained and proper training programs will be prepared for them. The aim is to bring more clubs into the mainstream.
