Kochi: Kerala Blasters midfield player Ayush Adhikari has been ‘given up’ by the team. Blasters officially confirmed the player’s transfer. It has not been specified which team he is going to, but reports say that he is going to Chennaiyin FC. The indication is that it is a free transfer. Blasters tweeted to thank him for his time with the team and wish him the best for the upcoming season.
After Sahal Abdul Samad, Adhikari is the second player given by Blasters. Sahal was handed over by Mohun Bagan. He also reached Pritam Kotal Blasters camp. Meanwhile, there are reports that Chennaiyin is acquiring Adhikari on the basis of some personal terms. It doesn’t say what it is. Adhikari is the eighth Indian player to join this summer.
Goalkeeper Prateek Kumar Singh was also brought to the Chennai FC team. Swede Fernandes, Irfan Yadwad, Farooq Chaudhary, Ankit Mukherjee, Sachu Siby and Bijay Chhetri were also included in the Chennai team. Meanwhile, Adhikari still has one year remaining on his contract with the Blasters. Adhikari flies to Chennai following making impressive moves in the Blasters’ midfield over the past three seasons.
Adhikari will be acquired by Blasters in 2020. Played 30 matches for Blasters. The star’s service was as a defensive midfielder. No goals or assists to his name. However, Adhikari’s moves and ball-handling were a challenge.
The Club has reached an agreement for the transfer of Ayush Adhikari.
We thank the young midfielder for time that he spent with us and wish him the very best on the next chapter.#KBFC #KeralaBlasters pic.twitter.com/VDKH6aFw1m
