Kenyon Martin Jr. at the next Slam Dunk Contest

We now know two of the four participants in the next Slam Dunk Contest. Because following the explosive rookie of the Blazers, Shaedon Sharpe, it is the explosive winger of the Rockets, Kenyon Martin Jr, who has been invited by the league for its annual competition.

While compiling this season 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds on average with Houston, Kenyon Martin Jr. shows night following night his athletic qualities, inherited from his father. The latter, first choice of the Draft 2000, was thus one of the greatest dunkers of his generation, but he never participated in the Slam Dunk Contest in his time. His only appearance in the competition was in 2005, when he helped Josh Smith win the competition by jumping over him…

The dunk resemblance between Kenyon Martin Jr. and his father is also quite striking, the son having inherited the father’s explosiveness but also his habits, such as shaking the circle following placing his dunk. The only difference is that the father was almost 10 centimeters taller (2m06 once morest 1m98).
