Earlier this morning Family members have confirmed that Kenichi Okuma, the composer and arranger of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and several Nintendo games, has died at the age of 56.
In a statement, Okuma died of esophageal cancer on July 22. The funeral was held by the family itself.
Following the announcement, several Nintendo fans wrote in mourning the passing of Kenichi Okuma, including Masahiro Sakurai, creator of Super Smash Bros., stating that the legacy of Super Smash Bros. Okuma will continue to be in the Smash family of games.
