“I am proud to welcome nine great teams from the National Football League that, starting this year, will be closer than ever to their Mexican fans. There are more than 48 million NFL fans in Mexico, the largest number of fans outside of the United States. They are not only the most numerous, they are among the best!”

He highlighted that the Embassy is working with the NFL on initiatives to develop American football in this country, including its Tochito NFL and Play 60 programs.

“There is no better tool than American football to promote healthy habits in the lives of the nearly 80,000 young Mexican men and women who currently practice it.”

Promoters and managers are part of the teams: Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers.

In this regard, Ambassador Salazar highlighted that with its commercial and social responsibility programs in Mexico, the NFL seeks to inspire a new generation of young Mexicans to continue living the passion and values ​​of American football.

He recalled that last season, players Isaac Alarcón and Alfredo Gutiérrez represented Mexico in the NFL and in this new stage, sports diplomacy will increase the number of players, coaches, fans and strategic partners of the NFL and its teams, in every corner from Mexico.

“It’s time to hit the field! Mexico, are you ready for some football?”
