The “American Idol” winner split from her husband and former manager Brandon Blackstock (45) last year following seven years of marriage. She recently spoke regarding this with actress Mila Kunis (39) on her show «The Kelly Clarkson Show». She and her ex have two children, a son and a daughter.
For Clarkson, the children would now be all the more in focus. It is very important to her that the little ones, who are now growing up with divorced parents, continue to do well. It is important to Clarkson and Blackstock that the children do not notice anything regarding the War of the Roses that is going on between them. “I tell my kids all the time, no matter what, you’ll always have each other,” Clarkson told Kunis. A good education is also important to her.
Clarkson spoke regarding her parenting in 2018 on radio station 94.1 Atlanta. “I’m not above spanking, even if people don’t necessarily approve of it,” said the 40-year-old. And further: “I don’t mean hitting her hard, I just mean a slap.”
“I feel good regarding it”
The singer explains that she was raised that way too. “My parents spanked me too, and I grew into something. I feel good regarding it and I do it too,” said the “The Voice” coach. However, she admitted that modern attitudes make it harder to slap in public.
However, the country singer made it clear that she would never physically discipline her children without reason or out of the blue: “I warn you. I say, ‘Hello, I’ll spank you if you don’t stop right away.'” It helped her daughter, she was much nicer now.
