Of the 660 valid votes, 653 were “yes” votes and 7 were “no” votes, 665 people participated in the voting, while 835 delegates had their mandate confirmed, the voting committee said.
The president of the RMDSZ thanked the congress “for the trust and the task”. He said that following that there was nothing left but to continue the work that had started many years ago.
“Our association is a tool in the hands of Hungarians in Romania. I am confident that together we can make the Hungarian community in Romania and Transylvania successful,” Kelemen Hunor said in his acceptance speech.
