MAPLETON, N.D. — A rural Mapleton man is running for Cass County Commission.
Keith Gohdes announced this week his bid for the seat that represents District 5. That covers parts of northwest Fargo, north West Fargo and most of Cass County outside the metro area.
Gohdes was a social studies teacher in the Maple Valley School District, according to a news release. He also worked as a crop adjuster with an insurance company.
He serves on the Cass County Planning and Zoning Commission. He also has served on the Executive Board of the Red River Valley, the Durbin Township Board of Supervisors, Central Cass School Board and he Moravian Church Governing Board.
Gohdes said he wants to work on evaluation of property taxes, promote an atmosphere of cooperation on the county commission and “develop a strong working relationship between the rural and metro areas of Cass County.”
If elected, he would take Commissioner Mary Scheriling’s seat.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release regarding a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
