Keisuke Kuwata, Takaaki Ishibashi, and … Banned from NHK due to broadcast accident of “Kohaku Uta Gassen”!?

Takaaki Ishibashi (C) Seriously

The NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, which is broadcast live for a long time, causes some sort of incident every year. Throughout its long history, there have been many moments when the living room was filled with chills.

Let’s pick up some of the many broadcasting accidents and introduce them.

First of all, at the 33rd tournament in 1982, the incident caused by Keisuke Kuwata of “Southern All Stars”. Kuwata, who sang the hit song “Chaco’s Coastal Story”, suddenly started saying, “Anyway, let’s pay the license fee!”

Kuwata was banned from the show for a while following his silly performance angered NHK. After that, in 2010, Kuwata once more participated in Kouhaku. In addition, she was entertained by the fact that her first appearance in four years was a “special frame” at the “73rd NHK Red and White Singing Battle” on New Year’s Eve.

For Kouhaku, whose audience ratings are steadily declining, is it no longer the time to dry Kuwata?

“We are finally entering the 17th year of the ban.”

“Tunnels” also caused problems related to receiving fees. At the 42nd tournament in 1991, he appeared in Kouhaku with the song “Kanenee”, which was a big hit that year.

However, when they perform, they are dressed in a pair of pants, and their bodies are painted in red and white. Furthermore, on his back was written the words, “Let’s pay the license fee,” and his absurdity became a hot topic.

It is said that “Tunnels” caused NHK’s wrath like Kuwata, and for a while following that, he was unable to appear on NHK programs.

At the 51st competition in 2000, “Tunnels” performed once more as a music unit “Yaen”, but following that they completely stopped appearing on NHK.

Takaaki Ishibashi’s appearance on the sports program “Sunday Sports 2020” broadcast in August 2020 was the first NHK appearance in 20 years since Kohaku.

Speaking of “banned”, it is said that Sho Ayanokoji of “Kishidan”, who used a suit that looked completely naked when he participated in the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen in 2006, has not been lifted yet.

In November 2022, when the red and white contestants were announced, Ayanokoji, who was of course not selected, wrote on his Twitter account, “We are finally entering the 17th year of the ban. However, the members are just perfect. If you don’t do something regarding that, you’re not a man.”

Things that are banned and things that are not. Where is the clear difference?
