It had been expected for weeks and thousands of people had made the trip, but nothing happened as planned. The free Keen’V concert organized on Friday July 21, 2023 at Parc de la Filhole in Marmande was canceled after only a few songs due to technical problems.
“At the 5th power cut, we decided to leave”
“We were forced to stop the show at the time of ‘Ne pars pas’. It’s almost at the start of the show since it’s the 5th title, ”explained the singer in a story on his Instagram account.
“With each song, the light, the PA system and the microphone would turn off for about three minutes. The first time we said to ourselves… ‘Okay, it happens’. But at the fifth cut, we decided to leave, ”he continues.
I am sad and as disappointed as you. We made the road, I wanted to find the public of Marmande…

On social networks, several spectators also shared their disappointment, and for some, their anger. “The artist leaves instead of waiting two minutes for it to come back! He does not deserve the 9,000 people who came to Marmande,” wrote one of them.
Another attacks the City, organizer of the event: “To receive Garorock, they are great electricians and there, they are amateurs”.

The City of Marmande apologizes
A few minutes before, the concert of the local group Flyin’pop had gone off almost without a hitch.
According to several Internet users present at the concert, it was one of the members of the group who spoke on stage to announce the departure of Keen’V. No City agent would have come forward, adding to the disappointment of the public.

Contacted by Le Républicain, the mayor of Marmande, Joël Hocquelet, said he regretted this unfortunate incident which will be the subject of a meeting with the municipal teams on Monday. At the end of the afternoon, the City also published a message on his social networks to offer his “sincere apologies”.
“A technical solution was put in place in a timeframe which unfortunately did not allow Keen’V to continue its concert. We have already begun a reflection to understand the exact causes of the incident so that this does not happen again”, writes the Municipality which promises to “continue to offer quality events and moments of shared joy. »
