ON Sunday, July 7, actor and motorcycle enthusiast Keanu Reeves, 59, and his visual artist girlfriend Alexandra Grant, 51, appeared together on the final day of MotoGP’s Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. They even waved the checkered flag together.
The pair were all smiles as they each held a flag in one hand at the Sachsenring Circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal.
It was a fitting occasion for the Matrix actor, who has long had a passion for motorcycles, even owning a custom motorcycle company, ARCH.
“Motorcycles are a huge part of his life,” the source tells PEOPLE of Reeves, adding that Grant “never objected” to his love of the vehicles.
“He has a very calm personality and just wants her to be happy,” the insider explained.
To watch the motorcycle race with his longtime love, Reeves wore an all-denim outfit. Meanwhile, Grant also wore jeans, but he paired them with a light blue sweater and oversized sunglasses.

The Speed star and artist prefer to live a quiet life, spending nights in on art or with close friends, a source recently told PEOPLE.
“They are often invited to events, but only attend the ones that are truly important to them,” the source said. “They both prefer to stay home. They often invite friends over for dinner. It’s always the best.”
In March, a source told PEOPLE that the John Wick star was “very happy” with Grant.

“This is the most fun and positive relationship Keanu has ever been in,” the source tells PEOPLE, noting that the visual artist is a “rare gem” who “everyone loves.”
“She’s adorable, sweet, caring and funny. She has her own life and career, but she’s also very supportive of Keanu,” she added. “When he’s on location, she goes with him. When he’s locally, she often visits the set.”
Last year, Grant opened up regarding her relationship with Reeves, both romantically and creatively. “The good news regarding falling in love as an adult is that I had already established my own career by the time my relationship started,” she told PEOPLE at the 2023 Beverly Arts Icon Awards in Los Angeles.

“What I love regarding Keanu and our exchange is that we push each other to build new paths,” he said later. “Seeing how other people solve problems is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, okay, this, that’s a dead end. What if I try another way?'”
“He’s such an inspiration to me,” Grant added. “He’s so creative, so kind. He works so hard.”
Reeves also spoke to PEOPLE regarding Grant, revealing in early 2023 that his last moment of happiness was “a few days ago with my girlfriend.”
“We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. It felt great,” she recalled, adding that “it was just so much fun to be together.” (People/Z-3)
