🎶 Latvian National Library: Music to Your Ears!
On Friday, October 18th, the New Music Festival kicks off in the Ziedon Hall of the Latvian National Library (LNB) with a concert intriguingly titled Poetics of Time. I mean, who needs to read the clock when you’ve got a chamber orchestra like Sinfonietta Riga with conductor Normund Schne hitting all the right notes? Not me! Sounds like time is about to be redefined!
The highlight of the evening? The world premiere of Vacuum Domains, composed by Platon Buravits! It feels like it’s about to become the soundtrack of your existential crises. Add to that a piece inspired by Japanese dolls – Karakuri – Mechanical Doll – sung by soprano Victoria Majore, and you might just find yourself clapping to the rhythm of gears and whirs. What’s next, a concerto for pet goldfish? Who knows!
