While the Christmas markets attract a lot of people in Alsace, especially camper vans. In Kaysersberg, the commune campsite is open during this period. It is experiencing strong activity.

Crowded at the Kaysersberg Christmas market weekend

It is especially on the opening days of the market that tourists flock. THE Christmas market is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. “We have a lot of French people. There are also Spanish and Germans,” explains Marilyne Héglin, the manager.

“As the city center parking lot is transformed into a car and bus parking lot, camper vans are always looking for space. Here, they are on our land. They have all the comforts with us,” adds Marilyne Héglin. So, every weekend, there are more than one fifty motorhomes who are welcomed, out of around sixty places available.

A success for a first

There is also a mobile home for rent. You don’t have to book in advance, people just show up. This opening is a first for the Kaysersberg campsite, it is also a great success. Camping will close its doors on Tuesday December 19, at the same time as the town’s Christmas market.
