Katy Perry has shared photos from the recording of the video for her new single “Lifetime” in social media, and is getting answers to accusations from followers.
– You send us love while putting a protected area at risk, writes Alba as a comment on Perry’s heart emoji on the picture of herself in a bathing suit.
The “Lifetimes” video shows Katy Perry sunbathing on the beach during the day and dancing in the famous nightclubs of Ibiza and Formentera at night. But the beach scenes were filmed on a small, uninhabited island called S’Espalmador, where the ecologically rich dunes belong to a national park.
According to a press release issued by the Balearic Islands authorities on Tuesday, Katy Perry and her production company had not applied for the necessary permits. The authorities are now looking into the matter, report BBC.
Katy Perry is not the only celebrity who has moved into vulnerable natural areas:
In 2015, Justin Bieber recorded the music video for “I’ll Show You” in a deserted river gorge in Iceland. Four years later, the Icelandic authorities felt compelled to close it temporarily for tourists – after the Bieber video led to a massive increase in visitor numbers and the area being trampled.
Fjaðrárgljúfur reopened after the Icelandic authorities prepared the area with ropes and its own paths, the website wrote Laidback Trip earlier this year.
