Katerina Stefanidis: The public “thank you” for her husband’s citizenship 2024-07-19 12:21:24

The Greek champion and Olympic medalist thanked both the Minister of the Interior, Theodoris Livanos, and Mareva Grabovski following they helped her husband and coach, Mitch Krier, get citizenship.

“Thank you very much to Mr. Thodoris Livanos and Mrs. Mareva Gabovski and anyone else who helped with the processes of the last few weeks. With your help, the issue of my husband’s citizenship is finally over,” Stefanidis wrote.

The Greek pole vault champion and Olympic medalist had raised the question of granting Greek citizenship to her husband and coach Mitchell Krier, pending since 2020, to the prime minister.

As Katerina Stefanidi commented with so many medals she has brought to Greece, her coach deserves to get Greek citizenship.

Her post in detail:
“Mr. Prime Minister, following thanking you for your wishes, I will ask you to approve the application from 2020 for honorary citizenship for my husband and coach, so that we can continue the preparation for the OA without interruption. I think with so many medals it’s worth it,” he wrote on Twitter.

Thodoris Livanios, new Minister of the Interior, intervened immediately and according to information, the process will proceed and will be completed on Monday with a presidential decree and thus Stefanidis’ wish will be satisfied.
