Kate Middleton: The moment she asked Carlos Alcaraz his predictions for Euro 2024 2024-07-18 09:21:58

The Princess of Wales, 42, made a rare appearance at the event yesterday (14/7) followingnoon with her daughter Princess Charlotte, 9, to watch Singles Gentlemen. The two had a lively look at the court as Novak Djokovic ran with Carlos Alcarath, with him coming out on top for the second consecutive year.

As he basked in the victory, Alcarath greeted the princess and her daughter, with the three participating in a brief post-match discussion in which they touched on another pivotal match important to the Spaniard. The Spanish national team faced England in a much-anticipated Euro final and Alcarat was, of course, on his team’s side.

Speaking to the Mirror, lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling said Princess Kate greeted the champion and introduced her daughter before asking him regarding his favorite Spanish footballer. He said Kate had said: “This is Charlotte. Do you want to ask Carlos something?”

Mrs Hickling said the princess then told her daughter they were ‘talking to a champion’, adding they enjoyed ‘seeing you win’ before jumping into a ‘final question’. He said he asked, “I have one last question. Who is your favorite Spanish soccer player at the Euros?”

Ms Hickling said the champion named Spain attacking midfielder and Wolverhampton alum Pablo Sarabia as his favourite, saying: “Sarabia for me”. But remaining diplomatic ahead of tonight’s big game, he added: “But I like the whole Spain team.” The lip reader said Kate politely returns: “Have fun tonight, enjoy the match.”
