Kate Middleton is attending the Wimbledon final today and is even presenting an award. Kate is actually not working at the moment due to her cancer diagnosis, so it is extra special that she is present here. The audience therefore has a surprise for her and she is visibly beaming.

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz was too strong for his Serbian opponent Novak Djokovic in three sets and was awarded the prize by Kate.

Unexpected: Kate Middleton attends Wimbledon

Actors Paul Mescal, Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya and Julia Roberts were among those in the stands at Centre Court in London. Cruise and Zendaya were also in attendance at the women’s singles final on Saturday, which was won by Czech tennis player Barbora Krejcikova.

Kate, the Princess of Wales, attended the tennis final in the British capital today with her daughter Charlotte and sister Pippa.

Remarkable: Kate has been absent for the past few months following her cancer diagnosis. The princess therefore received a nice surprise: a standing ovation from the audience when she entered the grass of the Centre Court. Also striking is that she looks really good for someone who is quite ill. She always looks that way, of course, but it is impressive. Sick and then still so energetic and glamorous look.

Why does Kate Middleton present the award?

As patroness of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Clubthe organizer of Wimbledon, she traditionally presented the trophy to the winner. Kate wore a purple dress, one of the colors of Wimbledon. Last year, the princess wore a green dress. On Saturday, Kate, who had to take it easy due to her cancer diagnosis, was replaced by Wimbledon chairman Debbie Jevans. But she might not let this last final day pass her by.
