People and royalty
The Cambridges are preparing to leave the capital.
Farewell the capital, “hello” the countryside? Tenants of Kensington Palace since 2013, Prince William and Kate Middleton would be on the move. According to the British press, the Duke and Duchess would like to go green in 2022 and would be eyeing an infamous residence of the British monarchy.
sulphurous reputation
The Cambridges might land their royal baggage at Fort Belvedere shortly, reports the Telegraph. Less far than their country house in Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, this residence in Windsor would be the ideal compromise for their project. The name will certainly mean something to the greatest connoisseurs of the royal family, since it has become inseparable from those of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.

The opulent property, nestled in an area of 2,000 hectares, was the scene of the passionate love of the rebellious and dandy uncle of Elizabeth II and the unloved American. As pointed out Point of view, it is there, between two parties overexcited where amassed celerities of all hairs, that the Duke of Windsor would have received German dignitaries in full rise of Nazism. It was also there, in December 1936, that the Prince of Wales renounced the throne which was intended for him before heading to the United States to join his beauty. Kate and William will certainly manage to restore Fort Belvedere to its former glory.
