The economic hardship recorded in SYRIZA also affects the appearance of the president of the party at the upcoming International Exhibition of Thessaloniki. In particular, in order to prevent Koumoundourou from incurring additional expenses, it was decided that the leader of the official opposition, Stefanos Kasselakis, would go up to the co-capital, but not to grant the established speech to the productive classes, from the conference area of Vellidei.
Mr. Kasselakis informed the members of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA that he will be satisfied only with the press conference to the media, following of course he has previously visited the TIF stands and met with representatives of the productive bodies.
Information indicates that some members of the Political Secretariat, when they heard the additions of Mr. Kasselakis, were surprised. It is alleged that they even proposed an emergency financial drive to raise money and cover the costs of covering the president’s speech at the Vellideo Conference Center (room rental, sound installations, lights, scenery, etc.), in order not to spoil the image of SYRIZA.
“Even if such a fundraiser were held, I would give the money to cover our other needs,” Mr. Kasselakis reportedly told them, meaning the payment of accrued wages to the workers of Koumoundourou.
