Kasper’s worst experience was in Aalborg: Now he wants to go back with his new club

A match where Kasper Kusk himself asked to be replaced at half-time, even though he could easily play on physically.

The match was June 4, 2023, where the winger with his then club Silkeborg hammered the last nail in AaB’s coffin and sent the northerners out of the Superliga.

– It would simply have been too much if I had to be the executioner who sent AaB into the 1st division and had to hear about it for the rest of my life. My parents and friends were standing behind the goal, so it wouldn’t have been too pretty if I scored, says Kasper Kusk in the latest edition of Nordjyske’s podcast Ripodsten, where he talks about the emotional experience.

The reason why the conversation in the podcast falls on the historic match is that it could be Kasper Kusk’s last appearance at Aalborg Portland Park.

The 32-year-old from Aalborg, who reached 252 games for AaB, changed the Superliga and Silkeborg before this season for Vendsyssel FF in the 1st division, and Kasper Kusk is well aware that if he is to have another farewell with Aalborg Portland as an active player Park than the somewhat special experience in the summer of 2023, it probably requires a promotion with Vendsyssel FF.

Still hungry

A project that certainly does not look impossible. With Kasper Kusk in a leading role, Vendsyssel FF has got off to a good start with wins in three out of the first four games of the season and occupies third place in the table.

– I am happy with the start I have had in Vendsyssel and feel that I have helped raise the level for both training and matches. I’m still hungry to play football, and it means a lot to me that I have a good everyday life and that my family thrives. It does that when I play in Vendsyssel, says Kasper Kusk.

The agreement he has made with Vendsyssel FF runs until the end of 2025. By then, Kasper Kusk will have turned 34. This may therefore be the last contract of his career.

– It is of course difficult to say already, but we are not going to move anywhere in the world, and the contracts I can get by then probably won’t have that much money in them either. Time will tell what will happen happen. As I said, I am happy to be in Vendsyssel, and if I can maintain my current level, I can easily imagine that I will want to continue, says Kasper Kusk in Ripodsten.
