Shoulder coat An audio of the suspended SHO of the KA section police station, Rafiq Khedro, who is also a poet, has gone viral on social media, in which he can be heard saying, ‘If an official gets 20 subscribers to my YouTube channel, he will There will be two days off. If someone brings 100 subscribers, he will get 10 days off from me.’
In the audio, he can also be heard saying that ‘so that no one subscribes and the official claims that these people have been subscribed by me, so whoever subscribes must send screenshots. Leave will be given on the basis of screenshots.’
After the audio went viral, Divisional Inspector General (DIG) Larkana Division Nasir Aftab issued a notification and suspended Rafiq Khedro.
According to the notification, the suspended SHO Rafiq Khedu will remain in the Larkana police range and cannot leave without prior notice.
In a conversation with Independent Urdu, Rafiq Khedro confirmed the viral audio and said that his suspension was based on an audio message which is viral on social media.
Rafiq Khedro said that he had sent this audio message to the Chief Secretary of his police station.
‘After the audio went viral, the channel got five and a half hundred subscribers’
Rafiq Khedro’s YouTube channel named ‘Rafiq Productions Larkana’ was created in November 2023, on which a total of 57 videos including his recitals of various artists have been uploaded. As of October 26, he has 1000 subscribers and 10000 views on this channel.
According to Rafiq Khedro, he has been writing poetry since 1991 and has written more than 250 poems, while the themes of his poetry are love, sorrow, and beauty.

In a conversation with Independent Urdu, Rafiq Khedro said: ‘Being a poet, I am very sensitive, when I see something beautiful or something sad, poems come out from my heart. My poems have been sung by many artists and received great appreciation.’
He said: ‘I was posted at the A section police station in Kandhkot nine months ago. The district of Kashmore is notorious for ragging robberies and tribal fighting. During my nine months on the job, there was complete law and order in my police station and I arrested many dangerous criminals, but I never received a compliment from the authorities.’
Referring to the viral audio that led to his suspension, Rafiq Khedro said, ‘I asked my officials for subscribers for the channel in love, it is not a legal offence, but I was suspended, which I will regret. ‘
In response to a question, Rafiq Khedro said that after his video went viral, he got 550 new subscribers on his YouTube channel. ‘This is a sign of their love and my support.’
Rafiq Khedro’s audio is viral on social media and his name is trending on Facebook.
Social media user Javed Ali Khaskheli wrote on his Facebook post in Sindhi language: ‘If SHOs and officials in Sindh are busy on Facebook, Tik Tok and YouTube 24 hours a day, how will law and order be established?’
Muhammad Aslam Jatoi, apparently criticizing Rafiq Khedro, wrote: ‘Kandkot SHO’s unique way of catching criminals, ‘Get 100 subscribers to my YouTube channel and get 10 days off.’
Sharing a picture of Rafiq Khedro’s suspension notification, user Hamath Ali wrote: ‘DIG Nasir Aftab subscribed and sent screenshot to SHO.’

**Rafiq Khedro:** Certainly. I joked that if an officer brought in 20 subscribers, they’d get two days off, and if they brought in 100, they’d receive ten days. I asked them to send me screenshots for verification to avoid any false claims. It was meant to be an encouragement for them to take an interest in my work.
**Editor:** Following the audio’s release, the Divisional Inspector General swiftly reacted by suspending you. How did you feel upon receiving that notification?
**Rafiq Khedro:** It was disheartening, to say the least. I have dedicated myself to maintaining law and order in a challenging area, and my focus has always been on that. While I understand the gravity of the situation, I believe there was a misunderstanding regarding my intentions.
**Editor:** You mentioned that your YouTube channel was created just months ago and already has about 1,000 subscribers. What motivated you to start this channel?
**Rafiq Khedro:** As a poet with a long-standing passion for writing—over 250 poems since 1991—I wanted to share my work with a broader audience. The platform allows me to showcase the beauty of my poetry and connect with others who appreciate the art form. Interestingly, since the incident, my channel has gained even more subscribers!
**Editor:** How do you balance your role as a police officer and a poet, especially in a district like Kashmore, known for lawlessness?
**Rafiq Khedro:** It’s indeed challenging. Poetry is an emotional outlet for me amidst the stresses of police work. I believe expressing emotions through poetry humanizes us amidst our duties. While I have enforced the law and worked towards safety in the area, my heart still seeks beauty and expression through my writings.
