Kasaï Oriental: Towards the signing of the Agreement for the establishment of a modern cement plant in Mbuji-Mayi

Kinshasa, March 13, 2024 – A delegation of experts from the Ministry of Mines has been staying since Monday March 11, 2024, in Mbuji-Mayi in the province of Kasaï Oriental to carry out the mapping of information on limestones.

Led by Alain Tsbimbumba, Advisor to the Minister of Mines in charge of partnership and investment, this delegation is accompanied by experts from the General Directorate of the Steering Agency for coordination and monitoring of collaboration agreements.

The objective, according to the head of this delegation, is to reassure ourselves of the potential offered by this province with a view to leading to the preparation of a collaboration agreement for the establishment of a modern cement plant in Kasaï Oriental. .

“We have come to reassure ourselves that there are limestone deposits in the province of Kasaï Oriental in order to prepare a collaboration agreement which will be signed between the Democratic Republic of Congo and a group of Chinese companies with a view to the establishment of a modern cement plant in Kasai Oriental”, declared Alain Tshibumba.

Julie Kalenga, Head of the provincial executive of Kasai Oriental who received this delegation in audience, promised her support and support from the provincial government for the realization of this project.
