As Magyar Nemzet reported, DK would start with arrests and dismissals the day following it came to power, but judges and prosecutors would not be spared either – this is what Károly Herényi talked regarding as a guest of DK TV in the past few days. “If there is no accountability here, which was not done in 1990, then we will remain where we were,” remarked the former faction leader of the MDF. According to him, order can only be brought regarding by removing everyone, restoring the rule of law. He added that, of course, he was not thinking of hangings, but punishments are necessary, he stated.
This opinion has now been confirmed by former MDF politician a sonline.hu-nak. He put it this way: even those who “took a role” in the survival of the Orbán regime cannot expect to be treated differently. Károly Herényi, who by the way is the president of the Mosolygó Balatonföldvárért Egyesület, emphasized to sonline.hu: “people need to be remanded in custody so that they cannot erase their traces”, then he continued: “a fair legal procedure is the point, since the rule of law questioned in today’s Hungary”.
As sonline.hu notes, Károly Herényi mostly declares himself to be independent. For example, he is a member of the board of the Association of Somogyi Independents, which would win seats in the county election. The president of the association is former member of parliament from Jobbik, Ádám Steinmetz.
