“Karnataka Assembly Polls: Rs 375 Crore Worth of Seized Items and Cash – Latest Updates”

BENGALURU – Enforcement teams have so far seized Rs 375 crore worth of cash and other items in Karnataka, where assembly polls will be held on the 10th of this month. The code of conduct came into force in the state on March 29. This is the figure from then until Monday. The campaign was concluded in Karnataka on Monday evening.

Only 7.09 crore worth of items were seized till Sunday night. But on Monday, the last day of campaigning, various agencies have seized a total of Rs 375 crore, according to the Karnataka Election Commission office.

Currency notes worth Rs 147 crore were also seized. This includes 22.27 lakh liters of liquor worth Rs 84 crore, gold (179 kg) and silver (669 kg) worth Rs 97 crore, goods worth Rs 24 crore and 1954 kg of intoxicants worth Rs 24 crore.

Of these, a total of 2,896 FIRs have been registered so far.. Before the code of conduct came into force (from March 9 to March 27), a total of Rs 58 crore worth of items were seized. These were found during inspections conducted at various places by the Election Commission’s flying squads, SSTs and the police.
