The campaign is “a very good opportunity to get to know the numerous art and culture houses and initiatives around Karlsplatz,” emphasizes City Councilor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler (SPÖ). A seven-hour “Herr Karl MegaTour” leads from 11:00 a.m. to all cultural institutions around the square, while the open-air program begins at 12:00 p.m. at the pond in front of the Karlskirche.
Rap workshop for children
Interested parties can touch the keys of the open piano here. A diverse family program will follow from 2 p.m. In the park there are art workshops for children and introductory offers for aspiring rappers and skateboarders.
In addition to the MegaTour, which visitors can join at any time, individual art and cultural institutions offer their own special tours of the TU and the Secession.
Literature and concerts at the duck pond
Kurt Palm (“The Shark in the System”), Gustav Ernst (colic) and Theresa Präauer present literature at the duck pond. Präauer’s “Girl” has been nominated for the Austrian Book Prize 2022. The musical supporting program will be designed by doppelfinger and Nino from Vienna, among others.
