“For the entire cultural scene, one might say that everything used to be better. But for the Impulstanz Festival it’s the other way around. We still can’t compare ourselves to similar festivals in terms of state support, but we’re going to be supported by the public Hand and are now subsidized to our satisfaction. That was not always the case. Although we were always sold out, the festival was in the red. Paradoxically, this changed during the pandemic. Through targeted cultural policy measures, we were able to compensate for financial disadvantages. We are currently considering setting up a foundation together with the Republic of Austria and the City of Vienna. But that is a topic for the future. Now we are concentrating on our 40th anniversary.
