The K-pop star who had to apologize to fans for having a boyfriend is single again.
Karina and actor Lee Jae-wook shocked the K-pop world when they went public with their relationship in February, with some furious fans accusing her of ‘betrayal’.
Lee’s agency, C-JeS Studio, confirmed the split saying he wanted to “focus on his film career”.
However as they said they will “continue to support each other as colleagues”.
The South Korean singer Karina, who is the ‘leader’ of the girl group ‘Aespa’, has promised her fans that she will ‘heal the wounds’ after revealing that she is dating actor Lee Jae-wook while apologizing on Instagram!
“I apologize for upsetting you so much,” the singer wrote, pledging to show her fans a “more mature and hard-working side” in the future.
Some fans went so far as to drive a truck to the headquarters of SM Entertainment, which founded and manages Aespa, with an electronic sign demanding the singer apologize, according to the South Korean newspaper “Chosun Ilbo».
aespa, who debuted in 2020 with the single Black Mamba, is expected to release a new full-length this quarter. Lee, 25, gained notoriety after starring in the hit period fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls. He also stars in the Disney+ original series Royal Roader which launched in February.
Days before, South Korean actors Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol had also announced their split – just two weeks after publicly admitting their relationship.
