Karina Carpio: The most important thing is health for our people

He reported that among his “dreams” is the construction of a cardiology and a children’s orthopedic in Aragua

As established by law, Karina Carpio, the region’s highest authority, presented this Monday her management report for fiscal year 2022, before the Legislative Council of the Bolivarian state of Aragua (Cleba), where she stressed that “the most important thing is the health for our people.

The regional authority asserted that it hopes to materialize “his dream” of building a cardiology and a children’s orthopedic. However, he recognized the high economic cost represented by these major works, which would take place in the vicinity of the José María Vargas Hospital, in the Sucre municipality, since their spaces can be adapted to these buildings.

“We think that it is an attempt at a dream, because we know that it is a really expensive project, but we are going to do everything in our power. What a child cardiology and orthopedic would represent for Aragua, there would be a concentration of several states such as Cojedes, Carabono, Guárico, Yaracuy and Apure, we might be the center of attention of those states, ”he emphasized.

He pointed out that there was a 60% increase in surgical interventions compared to 2021, when only 18,749 were registered. In addition to recovering eight operating rooms from the Central Hospital of Maracay (HCM), four from the Los Samanes Hospital and five from the Communal Health Network (CDI).

IMPROVEMENTS IN HOSPITAL INFRASTRUCTURES

  • Reinauguration of the Aragua State Podiatry Center (Carpo).
  • Rehabilitation of the Surgical Area of ​​the Maternidad Integral de Aragua (MIA).

ZOO AND TOURISM

The governor affirmed that the Maracay Zoo is ready, however, they are waiting for Nicolás Maduro, president of Venezuela, for its reopening. She affirmed that there was an integral rehabilitation and the visitors will be able to appreciate approximately 850 animals and 83 species.

SECURITY AND POLITICS

Carpio explained that in terms of criminalistics, Aragua dropped from third to eighth place in the national territory, being one of the most “emblematic” achievements in his management, because there are 118 Peace Quadrants deployed in the 18 municipalities of the state.

“A quadrant is an exceptional quadrant never seen before in Venezuela, which is that of Las Tejerías. A quadrant that becomes a sub-quadrant due to the events that have occurred. People aspire and breathe an atmosphere of peace,” he commented.

Operations in El Castaño and Las Tejerías

In his speech, the highest regional authority recalled the events recorded in October last year, specifically on October 8, when a landslide claimed the lives of 54 people in Las Tejerías, Santos Michelena municipality, and on October 17, the river overflowed. Palmarito, north of Maracay, where huge rocks destroyed everything in their path and three citizens died.

Various regional and municipal authorities were present during the event, such as César Otero Duno, comptroller of Aragua; José Arias, president of Cleba; Neira López, director of the National Electoral Council (CNE); Carlos Gamez, Rector Judge of the Aragua State Judicial Circuit, Rafael Morales, Mayor of Girardot; Wilmer Leal, mayor of Costa de Oro; Gonzalo Díaz, mayor of Libertador, Wilson Coy, mayor of Sucre and his counterpart of Santos Michelena, Pedro Hernández, Andrés Aular of San Sebastián de los Reyes, Rafael González, of Camatagua, Lolimar Montilla, mayor of San Mateo, Juan Carlos Sánchez, mayor of La Victoria, among others.

FOREIGN SPACES

He recalled that vulnerability remains in some sectors of Aragua, especially the southern municipalities, so it is important to address families to prevent children and adolescents from being left without a future. “Children are the reflection of the home.”
